Happy Birthday Annalise!

I realized I forgot to wish my firstborn a happy 4th birthday in a timely manner. She had many birthday celebrations, with grandparents on both sides, as well as her first friend party- she had four guests come for an art party where they decorated ceramic planters and played outside.
I'm going to have to stay on top of things like this, especially when we become a family of five in November! I'm sorry we won't get to see all of you at Eric and Gwen's, to show off my big belly! Mike has a tournament in Green Bay that he'd already committed to, unfortunately.

We've got a PhD in the family!

Mom and Dad, Mike and the kids and I went to Madison last week for Bridget's thesis defense. She did a great job- very calm, spoke clearly and slowly, and I actually understood her whole presentation. After her presentation, she went behind closed doors with her committee, where they grilled her, and eventually bestowed upon her the honor of Doctor of Philosophy. Then we were invited to the nerd party where we had cake and champagne in a lab. The kids really liked being at college. Bridget and Steve had friends come over to watch M, B, and A while we went out for dinner with our family and Steve's parents.

Lasik Eye Surgery - SUCCESS!

Yea! I have successfully gone through Lasik eye surgery. All is going well. Went in on 3/20/08 and have been resting somewhat ever since. Must really get off the computer as the eyes are getting pretty dry. Must go back to work tomorrow, so am sure they will be REALLY dry then! Yea, though...all is going well! No braille for now...even though the girls at work wanted to get me a Braille name plate (nice, huh?)! Hope all is well with everyone else!

Finally Slowing Down

Hey all! Things have been so crazy here, but it seems to be slowing down a bit, finally! I'm in the process of helping plan my 20-year class reunion, which has not been easy, considering we only had a 10-year so far and that was kind of a flop. So with that, together with the daily craziness of my 4-person household, I had been going a little nutso. Tyler had his quarterly parent/teacher conference again tonite and is doing well. It's just amazing to compare what he did at the beginning of the school year to what he did 3 months ago and to what he did late last week. Wow! I really have to credit the teachers these days! It can't be easy! Samantha started her Preschool room at the daycare last week. She's also adjusting, but still kind of shy in her new room. She'll be fine. She has that Scheibe blood in her...can't be shy for long! The kids have been going nuts around here though, and I will attribute much of that to being stir crazy! It's been so blasted cold here! YIKES! I woke up on Sunday morning and checked our thermometer and it read -20 and that didn't include the wind chill. And now tomorrow we are supposed to get another snow dumping. We're apparently already under a "snow advisory". And it doesn't help when dad calls from Florida and says it's 85 degrees! And Eric & Gwen are in Mexico right now...those dirty b@#&$%@s! tee hee - just kidding! I love you and you know it! Just don't come back married! : ) And, I finally set up our new scanner/printer/copier, so I am attaching our family photo from October 2007. Hey, other than that...nothing much is new! Hope all of you are well and hanging in there...eagerly awaiting spring/summer!
